Artist's Comments

Painting on papyrus is a real challenge but the results are so cool. The weave of the reeds makes for a constantly changing surface and the paint tends to act unpredictably. But it's so fun to paint Egyptian gods on it. This is 11x17 acrylic on papyrus. Prints available.

What is the significance of the feather?

And every day, the rose wilted, unable to bequeath its gift to anyone, forgotten and lost at the top of that cold, dark mountain, forever alone, until the end of time.

Anubis assisted in the Weighing of the Hearts (judgment), in which the heart of the deceased was weighed against the feather of Ma'at.
