Hmm well it doesn't look much like the way I pictured it in my head but then they never turn out the way I originally envision them. I was originally planning to do the dragon in traditional gold but he insisted on being marked like his koi companions. And who am I to argue:) I really loved painting those koi. Must find an excuse to paint more!

This is the first of four cards I'm doing for a dragon deck. I know the next one is going to be in lava but have no idea for the other two. I'm sure something will pop up.

the lighting is fabulous! i love the subtlety of the piece - the colors are almost muted except for the bright koi spots.

well it may have not turned out how YOU saw it..but you hit my idea on the head!..haha I have about a half sketchbook filled with designs for a koi dragon just like this!:) I love how yours came out! You helped me out with some of my color decisions...
