I wish all my paintings flowed this easily. This acrylic painting just leaped out of my brush and was a pure joy to paint from start to finish. It might have helped that it combines two of my favourite things to paint, horses and birds. I've wanted to paint a Gypsy Vanner since I fist ran into them on the web years ago. I guess I was just waiting for the right idea to come along. The title is inspired by the breed of horse and the wandering nature of Terns. This is hopefully the first of a number of paintings of birds and horses. Acrylic on illustration board, 18x18. Prints available. Original available

That's really beautiful. I love the motion you captured, it almost feels as though the horse is flying through the air with the birds. Your skill in capturing the animals is amazing, they look so real. I have tried to simply draw horses so many times, and I can't do them hardly at all. So I really admire the ammount of detail in the shading and highlights and just capturing all that hair and fur and making it look so lifelike. I love this peice, it's really great. + fav

Very fluid in the hair and motion in all three subjects. :+fav: I really do hope you do more of these horses and birds paintings as I like the combination of the two. It's strength, freedom, and grace all melded into one workable unit.
